It's Friday! It's been a great week here at AHW - not without its challenges, but still, I'm feeling grateful and fulfilled, and grateful for those I get to work with.

Ready to ease into the weekend?

Before we do that, wouldn't it be uplifting to send your team members into their weekend with your heartfelt appreciation?

I frequently have this loving intention but as a perfectionist, too often I overcomplicate things, get overwhelmed and don't take action. Is that familiar to you?

So try this with me today and see how it goes:

Loving Leaders Friday Appreciation-Palooza

Step 1: Block 25 minutes for this. That's all. If you have a small team, you may not even need that. If you have a large team, do this for your direct reports. You can expand to another group next week!

Step 2: Open a blank email for each person. Enter their email address in the “To” field, and the words “Thank you” in the subject line.

Step 3: Paste your version of this simple message into each email, changing it up a little for each one:

Hi ____,

As we end the week, I've been thinking about how much I appreciate each person on our team but don't say it enough. So this brief note is to let you know I appreciate you and I'm grateful you are part of this team! Thanks for _____ (specific thing they did this week.) It really made a difference. Have a great weekend!

Be sincere, and keep it short and direct. Otherwise you might not do it!

Step 4: Complete this for each team member. Set the timer and write them.

Step 5: Send them.

Then head on into the weekend knowing you sent a little love to your team!
