I Answered Her Call

Today a friend called. At just the right moment, she dialed my number.

I kept coming to her mind. She didn't text me. She didn't reach out to set up a time. She felt like she should call so she trusted her instincts and dialed. She figured I wouldn't answer, that she'd leave me a message.

But I did answer.

Even though it's a hard, pressure-filled day. Truthfully, if she'd texted me, I probably would've responded that I was busy and scheduled to talk another day.

But I answered the phone.

I answered as instinctively as she called. In practical terms, I'm too overwhelmed today, but my wiser self knew I needed a loving moment with a friend. Right on time, she responded to the urge to reach out. And right on time, I answered.

I'm glad she did. And I'm glad I did. I feel seen, heard, and loved. I know she knows what's on my heart. That helps. I feel uplifted and better able to face today's challenges.

Our instincts are often wise. Notice them. Trust them.
