More Human Now™
A breakthrough experience for renewal and results.
The pandemic, economic upheaval, and the pain of racial injustices have brought us all to an unfamiliar and sometimes overwhelming place. It can be hard to think, learn or even sleep. We may not feel like ourselves. We may be grieving and fearful but also perhaps surprised by new possibilities and insights.
But we can get to a better place, a more loving human place.
More Human Now™ is a 6-part virtual series of breakthrough experiences to help us each make the journey to a new place. Each week as part of a cohort, we'll use evidence-based practices, surround you with music and artistic inspiration, and plenty of person-to-person connection to take steps on the path to process current events AND step into a more human way of working. Recover a sense of peace and calm, stability and direction. Pace for the work ahead. Give shape to the personal and professional life you choose to create. This begins with what we do right now. Join us!
Six Breakthrough Sessions
Breakthrough Experience Week One:
Get Grounded and Oriented
The current and ongoing trauma and grief is like a storm that wiped out the certainty of what was known and dropped us on “unsure ground” as the poet John O’Donohue put it. But we can take shelter, protection and direction by living into the human qualities we value and discovering new practices.
Breakthrough Experience Week Two
In the valley and on the mountain: exploring emotional terrain
We are all scaling both the heights and depths of human experience at the same time. We may feel sorrow, anger, or depression while also perhaps joy, excitement, or optimism. We will spend two sessions here in the valley and on the mountain to deepen our true emotional intelligence by feeling and acknowledging our emotions and gain benefits from this experience.
Breakthrough Experience Week Three:
Provisions in your backpack: discovering resources you forgot you had.
You are already carrying provisions for this journey. These come from your past experiences facing and overcoming obstacles. With an appreciative eye, we will recall times of challenge that hold insights, comfort, and strength for you right now.
Breakthrough Experience Week Four:
Destination now: crafting a future you care about
Even while you are on this journey, you are building a life right now. Not tomorrow. Not some future date. Right now. You decide how to take the broken pieces of what was and assemble them to build a life to inhabit each day for you and with your team. Be inspired by examples of beauty or utility made from assembled broken pieces, found objects, and castaways.
Breakthrough Experience Week Five:
Deeper into the Valley and Mountains
Just when you reach the top of one mountain, you can see the peak of the next in the distance and a valley to travel through to get there. This journey is a little like that. Just when we think we have been through enough, we discover that there’s more. And we may still be processing the first round of feelings. Take stock, map the emotional terrain, and connect with colleagues.
Breakthrough Experience Week Six:
Around the Campfire: Stories and Rituals for a Human Workplace
As we complete this series, our journey may continue but we pause to recognize and honor how far we’ve come. We will each decide how to sustain our human values in action. We consider what story we will take forward from this time. And together we celebrate what is possible in a more human workplace and world.
Participants report these benefits.
Stronger essential human skills, like gratitude, kindness, care, awareness of self and of others, listening, managing biases, connecting behaviors, inclusion, trust, and resilient self-care.
More positive team behaviors, such as recognition, cross-team connection and support, sharing ideas, listening, vulnerability, feedback, productive disagreements, forgiveness + fun.
Improved customer focus, like increased awareness of customers as humans, seeking to understand customers’ needs, engagement with customers, and commitment to meeting needs.
“Zoom melted away.”
“What a restorative experience! I didn’t realize how much I needed to pause and breathe until I did just that.”
“But seriously that was one of the best trainings I've been to in a while. So impactful, to the point, gave great constructive ideas, and the decompress exercise at the end really helped and showed me a way to do "self care" after these types of experiences that I had never thought of.”
Bring this 6-week series of 90-minute sessions to renew your team members and strengthen the human foundation of your organization.
