Joey’s Story
Joey’s journey began in the sunny landscapes of Los Angeles, but his formative years were spent in the serene Coachella Valley. Growing up in these close-knit communities instilled in Joey a profound appreciation for connection and community, values that have significantly influenced his professional and personal life. His path led him to Pepperdine University for his undergraduate studies, where he not only earned his degree but also met his future wife. It was at Pepperdine that Joey's passion for relationship building and community engagement truly flourished. He immersed himself in student government, fraternity life, and nonprofit work, all of which shaped his belief in the power of creating spaces for collective action and making a difference in the world.
Joey's early career took him to Washington D.C., where he worked on political campaigns and congressional initiatives, driven by a desire to make a positive impact. However, he soon realized that there were myriad ways to contribute to society beyond the political sphere. Returning to Pepperdine, Joey delved into team development and community engagement, gaining invaluable experience and honing his skills in organizational development. This led him to pursue a Master's degree at Pepperdine, where he deepened his understanding of the theories and practices that underpin effective team and community building. He now lives in Livingston, California with his wife and two children and his dedication to fostering human potential remains steadfast.
Joey's personal philosophy is beautifully encapsulated in his favorite poem, "Footprints in the Sand." He recognizes that every person who crosses his path leaves an indelible mark on his journey, much like the footprints in the poem. Whether carrying him through challenging times or walking beside him, these relationships have profoundly shaped who he is today. Joey's commitment to making a positive impact in every space he touches is driven by his desire to create a world where his loved ones and others can flourish.

For Joey, the kitchen is a place of joy and nostalgia. He delights in sharing the culinary traditions that he learned from his Italian father, who was a chef, with his daughter, Allegra, and son, Luca. He loves keeping these memories with his father alive and instilling the same appreciation for tradition and family in the next generation.
Running marathons is another of Joey's passions. Having rediscovered his love for running during his Master's program, he now completes several marathons each year. For Joey, running isn't just about fitness; it's a meditative space where he can be alone with his thoughts and experience the best of humanity. He cherishes the community spirit that marathons foster, with strangers from all walks of life coming together to cheer each other on.
