I hosted the Loving Leaders Circle this morning, and we talked about the essentials of Loving Leadership in practice.
A participant, Mary, recalled advice given to her years ago by a woman, who told her to remember and practice these four words:
Love. Love. Listen. Listen.
So simple. So wise. Especially when people are worried and afraid, overwhelmed and hurting, Loving Leaders can Love. Love. Listen. Listen. And your team members will feel your care.
Sure, sometimes there is a need for more nuance and depth to understand and respond to complex situations.
And other times, it's helpful to recall that Loving Leadership may be as simple as Love. Love. Listen. Listen.
When you do this, you open yourself to empathy. You feel with the person. And then you compassionately listen so they truly feel seen and heard, understood and valued.
THIS simple action can make all the difference in shifting people from isolated fear to connected safety.
